Behind the Lens

Academic Extension's Behind the Lens program has closed, as of the Summer 2017 offering. For those interested in pursuing film events at the university, Academic Extension's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers a film series as part of its programming. Also, the Department of Cinema Studies offers free and low-cost screening events that are often open to the public.

Thank you for your support of and attendance at Behind the Lens and for your engagement in the arts at the University of Oregon and in the Eugene-Springfield community. Your participation in the program has been greatly appreciated.

Behind the Lens was a noncredit film seminar that took a relaxed approach to exploring the history of cinema. Each quarter, former Hollywood director Tom Blank hosted a series examining a time period or a theme through classic and contemporary cinema.

All film screenings included a lecture, discussion, and question and answer period.
