What are Professional Tools for Digital Media?

The University of Oregon Department of Art and UO Academic Extension are partnering to offer unique courses in Final Cut Pro, Graphic Design Basics, Illustrator, InDesign, iPhone Apps, Photoshop, Photoshop Graphics, Print and Digital Production, and Web Design.

These 1 credit workshop courses are designed for career professionals, students, and community members to develop and expand their digital multimedia and graphic skill sets.

PTDM workshop courses are offered throughout the year on the main UO campus in Eugene and occasionally in the White Stag Building at the UO in Portland. Download upcoming workshop dates from the link on the left, or check the online Class Schedule for dates and location.

Who can take these classes?

Anyone can register for a PTDM course. There are no major/minor requirements or prerequisites. Participants should have prior computer knowledge and be familiar with terminology like file handling, attaching files, operating system, and up or downloading.

  • Community members will have an opportunity to get to know the excellent faculty and facilities of the UO Department of Art.
  • Experienced artists and practitioners can enhance their artistry by working with expert instructors.
  • UO students can enrich their primary studies while developing their artistic skills.

How do I register?

All are welcome and encouraged to enroll in these enriching programs.

These courses have a self-support fee of $380–$390 that replaces tuition; it is not in addition to regular tuition. GTF tuition waivers and staff tuition benefits do not cover self-support fees.

Students requiring use of the handicap accessible elevators or lifts should contact the Accessible Education Center in advance.
