Mariachi Los Temerosos (Hood River) is a Mexican-American mariachi band that has been playing traditional music since its founding member, Juan Antonio Martinez, established the group shortly after moving in the early 1990s. The band was the first of its kind in the region and continues to delight audiences at quinceañeras, weddings, social and community events, schools, senior centers, Cinco de Mayo events, and more.

Bio

Mariachi Los Temerosos, a Mexican-American mariachi band from Hood River, has been playing traditional music since its founding member, Juan Antonio Martinez, established the group shortly after moving in the early 1990s. Mariachi bands typically include violins, trumpets, guitars, and sometimes other instruments. Mariachi Los Temerosos was the first band of its kind in the region and continues to delight audiences at quinceañeras, weddings, social and community events, schools, senior centers, Cinco de Mayo events, and more. Playing both popular and original selections, the musicians dress in traditional mariachi outfits special-ordered from Mexico. For public performances, a group of four traditional dancers often accompanies the band. Mariachi Los Temerosos' band members, all of whom Juan Antonio taught to play through a local after-school program, range in age from 9-30 years of age. Musicians include Réné Martinez on guitarrón, Kevin Martinez on vihuela, Erick Ortigoza, Carlos Ortigoza, Julio Verduzco, and Apoliar Sonato on violin, Jesus Verduzco and Juan Antonio Martinez on trumpet, Angel Soliz and Javier Romero on guitar, and Juan Antonio Martinez on accordion.
