Ruta Stabina is a program development manager for Academic Extension at the University of Oregon. Stabina’s professional career has taken her in several directions among which are education, fine arts, information design, and sustainability.
After finishing her graduate studies at the University of Oregon, Stabina joined the UO and for seven years managed the Sustainability Leadership Certificate Program. She now works as a program development manager and instructional designer, and supports a variety of noncredit and academic programs.
Stabina has been involved in developing adult education programs for more than 20 years. Her bachelor's degree is in teaching visual arts and technical drawing and her master's degree is in applied information management. She completed a graduate certificate program in instructional design in spring 2016.
A native of Riga, Latvia, Stabina has lived, studied, and worked in the US for more than 20 years. Together with her husband, who is a lifelong conservationist, they are passionate about the environment, and their hobbies include travel, outdoors, photography, and gardening.
