
What are Book Arts?
Book arts and artists' books are important disciplines in contemporary art and design. The Book Arts program at the University of Oregon encompasses many traditional graphic techniques through an annual selection of related courses. Book Arts workshops meet evenings and weekends on the UO main campus in Eugene, Oregon; classroom location varies by individual course.
Who can take these classes?
Anyone interested in design, calligraphy, illustration, printing, or books can take a Book Arts workshop. There are no major/minor requirements or prerequisites.
- Community members will have an opportunity to get to know the excellent faculty and facilities of the UO Department of Art.
- Experienced artists and practitioners can enhance their artistry by working with expert instructors.
- UO students can enrich their primary studies while developing their artistic skills.
How do I register?
All are welcome and encouraged to enroll in these enriching programs.
- Current UO and CEP students should register through DuckWeb, the university's online registration system.
- If you are not an admitted UO student, you can register through the Community Education Program (CEP) or by calling Academic Extension.
Registration is open until the first day of each workshop. If DuckWeb registration is closed, please contact Academic Extension at 541-346-4231 to register.
Cost
These courses have a self-support fee that replaces tuition; it is not in addition to regular tuition. GTF tuition waivers and staff tuition benefits do not cover self-support fees.
